In search of lions

MalaMala Game Reserve - Airstrip male leopard

"On drive" by Roger de la Harpe

Roger de la Harpe and the Africa Imagery team are at MalaMala at the moment. Taking it on the chin for their art, the valiant team have been heading out on every available game drive in order to find lions to feature in their new book. They’ve succeeded in getting some really nice material so far, and in-between snapping away on their stills cameras, have even found the time to shoot a couple of short video clips as well. And just because it’s spring, and we’re full of the joys of life, we’ve decided to share a couple of them with you. That’s right folks, it’s two for the price of one today!

For the photographers among you, the clip of the Bicycle Crossing male leopard mating with the Dudley female was filmed with a Nikon P500 by Africa Imagery’s production secretary, Sarah Caithness (clearly the whole team is talented!), while the one of the Eyrefield lioness chillin’ was captured on a Nikon D7000.

Happy almost weekend folks, enjoy!
