Could you be MalaMala’s “2012 Photographer of the Year”?
Hot on the heels of the announcement of Max Waugh as the winner of our 2011 Photographer of the Year, we are delighted to let you know that we are doing it again. We were so impressed by the quality of pictures submitted over the course of last year that we simply had to extend the incentive once again.
One lucky winner will walk away with the prize of two nights’ accommodation at Rattray’s on MalaMala for two people sharing.
Entries may be submitted with immediate effect, and will close on 31 December 2012.
Images will be judged along the following criteria:
You can submit your entries to Michelle, but please ensure that the pictures are at least 1200 pixels wide, 72dpi, approximately 1 megabyte in size, and in jpeg format. Please also include your name, the name of the picture, the date it was taken, and a brief description of the scene along with the name of your ranger
But this year we are upping the ante. We are going to run another competition for the best video clip taken on MalaMala. Should you have a penchant for ‘pictures in motion’, then you are the right candidate. Clips need not be professionally edited, and will be judged on subject matter. Being in the right place at the right time is of prime importance here. Should yours be the winning clip, you will also win a prize for two people for two nights at Rattray’s on MalaMala.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our guest judges for their invaluable input. Shem Compion and Shane Doyle are both award-winning photographers in their own right, and have both captured a number of spectacular images on MalaMala. In the near future, we will be dedicating a blog post to each of them where we will showcase some of their own personal favourites. Watch this space.
So get those shutters ready. We are waiting in eager anticipation for your entries, and challenge you to take 2012 to an altogether new level of photographic greatness! To aid you along the way, we will be including monthly tips and hints to help you get best out of your camera, and at the same time, improve your technique.
