Fun and games for a leopard cub

Looking rather bemused...

Looking rather Pieter van Wyk

The six-month old cub of the Kikileze female found what looks like a piece of tattered cloth somewhere in the bush, and practiced his prey-hoisting skills by dragging it up into a tree with him. Leopards store their prey differently from other big cats. They are adept tree climbers, and will hoist their prey into a trees branches to protect it from other predators.

This awesome footage – captured by Pieter van Wyk – will amuse and entertain! Enjoy!

  1. When this cub was four months old, we had the pleasure of watching him playfully torment his mom. Thanks for keeping us posted on his antics. As always, incredible footage.
